The State of California ( Assembly Bill 2786 ) requires that all facilities that have 50 or more people have emergency supplies for 72 hours. This mandate, along with Cal OSHA enforcement was created for increasing public awareness and preparedness for the eventual natural disaster.

Businesses in other localities, especially those prone to Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Flooding, Severe Thunderstorms, Heavy Snowfalls or Icestorms, or any of a number of man-made disturbances or system failures should obviously be aware of all local, state and federal requirements to duly safeguard their personnel, and their assets.
